Memorial Day on the Cape

We had great weather for our weekend on the Cape with Nana and Pop!

Digging at Skaket beach.

Contemplating the water.

Building a castle.

Pop and Mary have different ideas about where sand belongs.

Accessorizing for lunch.

Checking out the waves at Nauset.

Building a "beach house," as Mary described it.

Twins!

Playing in the kiddie pool.

Enjoying a pre-dinner cracker.

Phone pics

The umbrella was a little big, but that didn't stop Mary.

She almost took out a few passers-by in her excitement.

Prep work

Mary was working on her knife skills this evening.

Examining the strawberry before hacking away.

Then it was the banana's turn.

It was more fun to slice the food intended for the knife.

Enjoying the fruits of her labor.

Meeting baby Conor

Mary finally got to meet Conor yesterday and she acted like such a big girl.

We also got to see Uncle Willie!

Conor even held Mary's thumb.

Jack took a quick break to snuggle with Nana.

Playing/fighting with the balloon :-).

Birthday party

We had a few friends over to celebrate Mary's birthday last night.

David and Anna Maria enjoyed Mary's toys.

The balloons were entertaining for a bit.

No one said no to a cupcake.

Taking a break to feel the baby kick.

There was an art project that lasted about 4 minutes.

Mary tends to assume all presents are for her, and for once she was right!

Dinner was a group event.

Mary was excited to try on a couple of her presents: the Red Sox hat and the Disney backpack.

Birthday dinner

I didn't get to take any pictures at Mary's birthday dinner so Nana was kind enough to send me hers.

Trying to get the hat on by herself.

Finally succeeded, with some help.

Sharing with Grandpop.

Mary was happy to wait to blow out her candles because she loves the Happy Birthday song so much.

Mary wasn't excited about the cupcake when she turned 1, but a lot can change in one year :-).

More birthday fun

Mary didn't get to open all of her presents on her actual birthday so the celebration had to be extended.

Listening to the card from Auntie Kate, Uncle Matt, and Jack.

Checking out her new race car. Pabbi is a great driver, it turns out.

Mary also received a bike helmet from Mama and Pabbi.

She's pretty excited about it.
