Reading

Recently Mary has enjoyed looking at books on her own, and I can even trust her not to rip paper pages.
An impromptu break in the kitchen.

Chauffeuring Elmo around the apartment.

Having a drink while talking on the phone to Amma.

More snow

We did some exploring around the neighborhood after the recent snowfall.

Taking a break early on. Mary can't pass up a good sitting stoop.

Digging through a snow drift.

Doing our civic duty.

Children's Museum and a play date

Mary showed Nan and Pop around the Children's Museum today.

Shooting some hoops.

Mary was the cashier and Pop was the bagger.

It was a hard hat area, so of course Mary followed the rules.

Trying to make off with Nana's purse.

Anna Maria headed for the door immediately . . . not a good start :-).

Mary took a special interest in Anna Maria's socks.

Practicing for next Halloween.

"You're not going to eat those Mum Mums, are you?"

Bikini time

It's not exactly bikini weather in Boston, but Mary wore hers to swimming this morning anyway.

Blowing bubbles with the instructor and Pabbi.

Doing some laps.

Practicing the "Humpty dumpty."

The aftermath, as she splashes Pabbi.

Mary did her best to help clean up after using the play dough.

Coloring!

Yucky weather

We were stuck inside this morning so we tried making homemade play-dough for the first time.

Bracelets!

Mary was none too pleased when the play-dough bracelets started to fall apart. I probably should have explained that they were only temporary.

Pabbi has some competition for his recliner.

Museum of Science

Mary and I met Jack and Auntie Kate at the Museum of Science this morning.

The first thing to attract their attention was a bench.

Then there was some fun with animals.

Watching some big kids play with the pneumatic air tube.

Taking a break to read.

Beauty salon

Mary took her shower a bit late today so I wanted to blow dry her hair before bedtime.

Patiently waiting for mama to begin.

She decided to search the trash can for some form of entertainment.

She was successful.

Playing around

Here are some photos of our play time today.

Riding on Pabbi's shoulders.

And then Mama's. Notice that the phone didn't leave Mary's hand.

Hugging her dragon. The blurriness of Mary's hand shows how vigorously she was patting him.

Still working on the somersaulting, but she can't get past this point without help.

Snow day!

We went out to explore the snow this morning. We're dealing with some cabin fever since we can't drive anywhere and most places are closed.

Mary was a very cautious walker. I don't think she realized that with all the padding she was wearing she would hardly feel it if she fell down.

She was a real trooper since the snow was still coming down and it was pretty windy.

Mary thought wearing sandals would take our minds off of the snow.

It wasn't long before she wanted to change into her slippers.

Then it was time for a tea party.

Swim lessons

Mary took her first swimming lesson today. We expect her to be fully capable of swimming on her own by the end of the 8 week session ;-).

Warming up.

Kicking up a storm.

"Noodle this, Pabbi."

Quite proud of herself for balancing on the fish floaty.

Working it out

Mary wasn't very interested in bed last night so she decided it was a good time for a trip to the gym.

"See Mama? Your sneakers fit fine."

The scary part is that the shoes don't look all that big on her.

Grandparents galore

Mary got to spend an evening with all four of her Grandparents this week and she was in heaven.

Serving some strawberries to Afi.

And one for Amma too.

Playing Peek-a-boo barn with Nana.

Glasses

Mary felt left out when she saw Mama's new glasses so I let her try them on.

Professor Mary.

The unintentional close-up, as she was trying to grab the camera.
